A chronicle of my life starting from June 21,
2002. |
May 25, 2003 This will more than likely be my last entry in this journal. Mark May 25, 2003 on your calendars. I'm leaving. A well-timed sequence of events led up to my decision. First, I began creating my own, custom weblog hosted on my own server. Although Writing.Com's journal was nice, I was always jealous of the blog culture, with their awe-inspiring designs and infinite custimizing capabilities. That's not all, of course. Just as my blog was reaching awesome functionality, Writing.Com was forced to put very harsh restrictions on free accounts, even including preferred authors. I highly doubt anyone can even *become* preferred anymore without paying. The restrictions just wouldn't allow for it. Now I feel more constrained on this site. And since I've got my own server, why should I live with that? I would indeed pay if I had some income, but nay. This is why I'm leaving Writing.Com. My portfolio will remain. I may stop in now and then to see any reviews I have, read other people's stuff, etc. But this journal is now dead. Pity it didn't reach June 21, 2003. I was looking forward to an event of such sentiment. It would be a journal that indeed showed a transition of myself from my worst state to possibly my best in the timeframe of one year. Almost art. Alas, I'm leaving for sure. Maybe I'll add a feature in my blog to add any new entries automatically to this journal. Hmm... It could be done. I'll ponder that. :) If you would like to continue following my life through to its ultimate demise, go to http://dris.webhop.org. That's where I'll be. Thank you everyone who read this. Even more thanks to those few people who sent me encouraging mail. I appreciate it, and it's been great therapy. Life is good. Especially after a storm. I swear, this is the last paragraph. I'd never leave without recommended listening though. Recommended listening is Let You Go by East West. My favorite band, and an appropriate song. Plus, I'll be seeing them the day after school in concert if all goes well. :D Now, for the last time, goodnight. ~ Dris ~ |
