My So-Called Perfunctory Existence

Can you say "automated messaging nightmare"?

Two and a half hours was the total time I
waited on the phone to get my imac internet
connection up and running again. I talked to
a total of 10 people whose names were either
John, Chris or Dave. I don’t even remember
what my problem was at this point. I kept
repeating it and then having them tell me
something else. Then I was stuck listening to
some of the “finest” selections in 70s and 80s
music including such songs as “Get into the
Groove”, “Message in a Bottle” and “If i could
turn back time”. If I could turn back time, I
wouldn’t have gotten earthlink. But whatever.
And when I say the letter “f” does it really
sound like im saying “s”?!?!?! If I had to talk in
my “i’m a polite little person” voice for one
more minute... Then finally they decided “Hey
if we give her a new username and a new
access number, maybe it’ll work.” And it did!
So praise the Lord I’m back online! Good to
see ya’ll again! All that high speed internet
deprivation...it was getting to me. A sigh of
relief.
Well it's July 5th...; ) for those of you who know
what I mean...and it's not about running...
