My So-Called Perfunctory Existence

Big Brother has taken an interest in me...

Yesterday, I had one of the most interesting
phone conversations in my life. With a Army
National Guardsman. Now to start off, I have
NOTHING WHATSOEVER against soldiers
and such; my grandfathers and other relatives
are or have been in the army. I think the thing
that was most freakish about the whole
experience was that this guy knew WAY too
much about me. Now there's the obvious stuff
like name, address, blah blah blah. But this
guy proceeded to tell me the lot number of my
house, my hospital and city of birth, and blood
type among other things. That is very
unnerving! How does the governement know
so much about me?!?!? This year we had the
"opportunity" (translation: if you don't do it,
we'll pound you) of taking the ASVAB test-a
military skills exam with parts on math, verbal,
electronics, codes, etc. I was afraid to ever
touch the paper for fear they could scan for
prints on something. Then there was the part
we had to sign and initial about how results
would be filed in the DOD...
Now you know why I say trust no one...
