Sometimes, the only response
To the daily absurdity
And horrible policies
It is to break down
And laugh like an escaped banshee
Laughter is the best medicine
Mocking the powers that be
It is the best way to overcome madness.

Personal aside: As long as our great late-night comics are allowed to openly mock our political leaders, we will be okay as a society. Autocrats can't stand being mocked and in autocratic countries, no one is allowed to openly mock the great leaders. During the Park Chun Hee era in Korea (1961-1979), a journalist was put in prison for a typo. He used the character for dog instead of the character for President, using Chinese Characters which were still widely used back in those days. the characters sound the same, so he called President Park the great dog instead of the President! He spent three years in prison, later became the host of a satirical TV show, and became a national assemblyman. He died a few years ago.
