Blog Harbor #13
Prompt #13: If you were to run for political office, what position would you run for? Walk us through your campaign strategy and policy positions.

I would not ever run, BUT, if I did it would be for a local office where I live. Let's say, I want to run for Mayor. First, I would want to be sure that I introduct myself to not only adults but to the youth. They are the next voting generation and I want them to respect the office and respect that the office cares about them. I would like to get them to participate in the "running for office" experience and would see if I could get some help from a few young people. Once I have completed that task and have a small crew, I would sit down with them and ask them some questions about how they could participate in their city. They could help with flyers, helping me at an introduction booth, help with signs and so on.

I would try to have a town meeting where folks could come to me. There would be a question and answer period. I would try visiting businesses and finding out what their needs were in the community. I would check in with entertainment within the area and see if I might have a few minutes to speak. I would be as transparent and reachable as possible. I would visit as many as possible of our First Responders and thank them for their service to the city and find out what they need and help if possible. To me, this is the best political office you can get involved in and learn.
