Prompt #12: What's your favorite historical event or time period, and why do you find it so interesting?

It would be the turn of the century, 1890s on. I love the excitement that it brought to America. It just takes us out of the Wild West into the beginnings of so much industry. We have cars, phones, electricity and so much more. The clothing will start to change. Women are working. Large cities are amazingly complicated. We are atarting to see true traffic. Tall buildings going up. Street cars start to replace the horse for travel in the city.



I would have loved to have traveled back in time to New York and ride a stree car down Main Street. Or take a ferry out to see Ellis Island and the Lady herself. Aspirin is invented. Mark Twain wrote an essay titled Concerning the Jews. What is not to like about the Victorian Era? The dresses were still to long but I would love to dress up in one for a costume party, just once. And the homes that were being built; check out author John Steinbeck's home:




These are just a few of the things that could take me back to the 1899s.
