After the Celebration
The snow has come in falling flakes.
We watched. We saw. We played,
like little children's joy, that takes
sweet forms in hope displayed.

The day has come to melt the snow,
though temperatures have kept
the blanket white a day to know
with hearts, that still have lept.

It's back to business ever same
in tasks we daily do
with weather that we think is tame
compared to snow, that's new.

Much like the day of Christmas joy,
the afternoon is less.
The gladness, that scarce snows employ,
creates a time we bless.

So, put the kettle on, my friend.
Let's sip some tea quite slow
as moments, that are southern, tend
to fading thoughts of snow.
