6th locket piece
Once they got to the lake, there was a fog over it and it was almost dark. They decided to make camp for the night and wait until the morning to pursue it further.

The next morning the fog was still there. The needed to make a raft or boat to go out into the lake. It was the largest lake in the kingdom. They spent this day building a small sail boat. They camped their again that night.

The fog had finally lifted some by the next day. They tested their sail boat on the water. There were no leaks and it floated as it should. Some of the men piled in the boat and a couple others stayed behind to watch the horses.

As they sailed across the lake, the fog lifted even more. The water became a little choppy for no apparent reason. Something bumped the bottom of their boat. Then it raised up in front of them, threatening to crash the boat. It was some kind of monster they had heard legends about. It was the monster of the great lake.

Everyone gasp! Jacob ordered, "Everyone draw your weapons! Anyone know how to defeat this thing?" Had they just met the guardian of the next locket piece?

Weapons were drawn and they were ready to fight, but didn't really know what to expect. "Daniel said, "I've only heard legends about it. I never heard of anyone defeating it either."

Again, the monster raised its head. They gave it all they had with their weapons. The monster ripped the sail and withdrew into the water once again. Everyone watched to see where it would show up again with their breath held. Its head raised up on the side of the ship and snatched one of the passengers and dragged him under water with him again. Everyone's hearts were racing as they moved to the middle of the boat.

Again the monster came above water and the man it had snatched was no where in sight. The monster rose up and eyed the men carefully. Then Jacob had an idea. "Aim your arrows at its eyes!" Arrows flew through the air and hit their marks. A couple of the arrows hit between the eyes. The monster let out a horrid cry and went back into the water turning it red as it went down. The monster had been blinded and retreated.

They would have to fix the sail before going any further. Now that the battle with the monster was over. the men set to work at sewing and repairing the ripped sail. Once the sail was fixed, they were able to continue sailing.

The sailed to the rock formation in the middle of the lake and decided to start their search here. Jacob and the men would have to dive under water to find the next locket piece. They didn't know how deep the lake was and hoped they would not be seeing the monster again. Two men volunteered to dive with Jacob.

The water was mostly clear. They followed the rock down about 20 feet and discover a small open area under the rock. By this time, they needed to come up for air. They agreed to go down one at a time until they figured out if the next piece was here. Jacob was the last one back down and he found a small chest sealed tight. He grabbed it and brought it back up to the surface. The three climbed back on the boat and broke open the chest. There it was! The next locket piece. It appeared to be half a picture of Queen Ann in the shape of the locket. And there was the next clue.

There is a book all about you
It can be found in an old shoe.
Once you find the next clue,
It will tell you what you must do.

Look at the Townsend library,
and don't you terry.
This task will be scary.
Look for the forbidden fairy.

Jacob read the clue and said, "Seriously, I've got to get back into the forbidden library again? That's not going to be easy or fun. I already know how hard that is to do. We will need to come up with a plan. Let's head back to the hideout and figure out how we can do this before we head to Townsend."

That's exactly what they did. Back at the hideout, Jacob called for a meeting. They discussed the plans to recruit and then how to go about getting back into the forbidden section in the Townsend library. They spent some time discussing different ideas and plans. The next morning, the men with Jacob would head out toward Townsend, and the men staying with Mike would begin looking for recruits.
