Youth/young adult - Fantasy seems to be a popular genre amongst that age group.

(3) Write a synopsis of your novel using the same narrative voice you will use to tell the story.

Jon has always taken second place to his cousin Richard. Richard became king and he was stuck being a duke. One day, he saw an opportunity to change all of this, and he acted upon it without a second thought. He killed his cousin, Richard and Ann, Richard's queen. Then he got a crowd fired up and started a riot against the royal family. After that, He worked on the town's people to start ranting for him to become the new king. It shouldn't have worked, but oddly enough, it did. Within a couple of weeks, he was made king.

After Jon killed Richard and Ann, a homeless commoner (Harold)snuck into the castle to rescue their newborn son, Jacob. He took the boy, hid him, and raised him as his own. During this time, Jon Ruled as king.

Jon, with the help of an evil sorcerer, placed a curse on anyone who was of the royal family and could take back the thrown from him, and made Jacob the only one who could break the curse in hopes he could find him one day and kill him.

Once Jacob grows up and learns his true identity, he must embark on a quest, travel all over the kingdom, and break the curse placed on him and his family. He accomplishes this and after a huge battle wins back the kingdom to rule over himself with Judith, his love interest he meets while embarking on the journey to complete his quest.
