Kitchen Confusion (Induced Senescence)
The modern kitchen would seem to be
the model of prime efficiency.
Designed to free my time and yours,
from unappealing kitchen chores.

The dishes clang, go swish and swash
while in the big machine they’re washed.
The coffee’s cold, but a finger wave
reheats it in the microwave.

The clothes tumble around the dryer,
as bacon crisps in the air fryer.
Everything’s fine while appliances run
But how can you tell which one is done?

For musically they were made to confuse and conspire,
manufactured so that just one annoying beep was required,
and with that monotone they sing like a choir.
