Keeping In Touch and Using Words Creatively

I have to remember to call my father on Saturday. It's his birthday. I never forget. I talked to my mother yesterday, and she reminded me. I put an alert on my phone, and the minute I get up I will see it. Having Facebook makes it easier to keep in touch, and I love that. That was one of the best things about getting the internet and Facebook; keeping in touch. I remember watching my parents only talk to their relatives a few times a year and sending them Christmas cards. My mother would send out many cards every year and getting only a few back. At the time I wondered why she bothered. I understand better now.

I had to look up Listeria to write this and it gave me a fright. The awareness of this disease made me think of the various food recalls we have had during the past while. I didn't realize that bad food could cause such a problem. We have had food recalls on many things, including onions, potatoes and other things. I will have to pay more attention when I make my selections at the grocery story.
