Town and City Names

Town and City Names

I wish I’d been around back then
when towns were founded overnight
and named by clever, witty men
with humour, wisdom and foresight.

Why, then I’d think up haunting names
that live forever and a day,
names so diff’rent and not the same
that make the place a joy to stay.
