Another Two This Month
Another Two This Month

It has been almost a month since I wrote a blog entry for this post. That’s because I only had one Short Story to write last month. I had two short stories. But the second one, I didn’t get a response from an email I sent Jeff until the middle of the month. Even though I had about two weeks to write it, I felt it was too late by then.

This month I have two short stories to write again. But I didn’t know about the second one until a few hours ago. I knew about the first one yesterday. So, I started working on the planning part of this Short Story yesterday. It was my intention to start working on it today if the WDC prompt didn’t show up. It showed up at about noon today my time.

It didn’t take me too long to remember a Short Story for both of these prompts. I started the first one yesterday and the WDC one in the middle of the afternoon today. The WDC Short Story I started working on first after all. After all, it is the WDC Short Story one.

The WDC Short Story is the most important. It’s the one I want to get done most of all. So, after planning both of these short stories, I went back to start writing my WDC Short Story for this month. Unfortunately, I only had about three hours to write the beginning of this Short Story.

What is planning? For my scriptwriting, it’s the Act Breakdown, the single-sentence Story and Scene Outlines, and the single-paragraph Story and Scene outlines. But for my Short Stories, Poetry, etc. it’s what each section/part with any new Short Story or Novel. It’s done in a single sentence part/section single sentences.

I also write three or four paragraphs about what this Short Story is about. Even though I don’t use these paragraphs in the Short Story itself, it does help me with the writing of my Short Story. After I get these paragraphs written, I start writing the sections/parts in single sentences. Usually, it’s ten parts/section. This is one of those times.

Not only did I get the planning done on these short stories, but I also got the first two sections/parts written for the WDC Short Story for this month. That means I only have eight more parts/sections left until I’m done writing this WDC Short Story.

For the next couple of days, I don’t think my brother and I have too many things we need to do. I’m sure we will probably have some things to do. But it shouldn’t be too bad. If so, maybe I can get these two short stories written in about a week or two. Hopefully, it won’t take that long.
