Crazy Cat Lady
For the last 3+ years I have been dealing with a crazy neighbor who feeds the feral cats in the area. More and more cats have joined this colony as, since they are all wild, none have been spayed or neutered. While this is great for rodent control, the cat problem itself has exploded out of control. The cats lay attack house cats when they are let outside, lay in the middle of the road and take forever to move so a driver can pass without running one of them over, there are raucous fights nightly. Both of my kitties have been attacked for going into their own yard! And yet, this lady continues to feed them.
Well, my husband's tolerance with this lady came to a screeching halt the other day. He was out walking one of our pups when the dog did what dogs do. He saw a cat and chased after it. He didn't go too far, as he was still on his lead, but that didn't stop our crazy cat lady neighbor from going mental on my husband. She actually told my husband that we needed to get rid of our dog because she didn't like it and also said that he got out and chased her cats every day. We know this to be a lie since, while our dogs are smart, they have yet to figure out how to turn the lock then the doorknob in order to get outside. (Yes, both our rather large pups are inside dogs) So anyways, my husband yelled back at her and told her that the cat population was her fault. She said they weren't her cats. (Wait! She'd already yelled at him for the dogs chasing "her" cats, right?) My hubby brought up that discrepancy and she said that she just feeds them because she feels sorry for them. The hubby responds with "your feeding them is the reason we have this cat problem in the first place!" Yesterday, there were people outside her house trapping as many cats as they could. Maybe he got through to her, who knows. But there are still loads of cats left. Hopefully they'll come and catch more and find them homes. The dangerous cat colony has got to go.
