FOMO FTW versus stalled writing process
Time to write!' There are an infinity of blank pages in virtual space, and sure enough more than enough of the paper ones.

But what if the story doesn't come?

Well there are three things that can happen if I sit down to the page, be it virtual or not,

I could find nothing, no will to actually write, or no words.

And the momentum that came from building my habit.

I could fin d a load of junk that I could line edit, or just abandonm

And the momentum that came from building my habit.

I could find something worthwhile.

And the momentum that came from building my habit.

And clearly the only bad one of these is the last--it might be good, and that means there's something to lose.

But don't fret, as nobody has to see it even if it IS good. Until you publish it it is your private event. And the other two are net gains--gains in professionalism, in proof that you are a writer because you are doing the thing we do. There is nothing lost in them.

But if you do not hit the page, what might you be missing out on?
