Title Keep Hope Alive In these dark and dangerous times We find ourselves living in it Is hard at times To retain any sense of hope For the future Of our great country. When the airways Are filled with dark rumblings Of retribution, Civil War 2.0 The great divorce. Instead of the United States We have become The disunited States. The country Seems to be splitting Into hostile warring camps Into two political tribes. The blue and red tribes. The two tribes Do not get along Not seeing the world In the same way. Lost in their virtual media bubbles Their cyberspace prisons of the mind. And in this dark and dangerous place We live in It is more important Then anything else, That we recover The sense of hope And optimism for the future. And that we work together To overcome the despair fear and hatred, Spread by the former president Who delights in throwing gasoline On the political fires. Laughing like an escaped banshee In the chaos, he inspires. Hard to keep hope alive But we must do so If we are going to remain One country The United States of America. Instead of falling apart Into the Disunited States And become another failed Democracy. |
