Finally, a New Prompt

We finally got a new WDC prompt for this month. Unfortunately, we only have about twenty-six days to finish writing a Short Story on it. That’s not a big problem for me, but it could be for other writers. In the past, even a day or two could make a difference. Because of where I’m working now, it’s not for me.

I’m hoping that I can get my latest Short Story done within the next few days before I go back to work this Friday. I think that I can do it. After all, it didn’t take too long to remember a story to go along with this prompt. My only problem was the amount of time I had today to get any work done on it. Luckily, I had plenty of time.

Today was very typical for a Monday. My brother and I had several things that we needed to get done today. usually, that means I don’t get too much time for any writing on Mondays. If I get any time at all. It wasn’t like that today, though. I didn’t have a lot of time, but what time I did have went well for me.

I only had a few hours to remember a story related to this prompt, plan my Short Story, and get started writing it. That’s what I did, though. As mentioned above, it didn’t take me too long to remember a related Short Story. It didn’t take me all that long to do the planning for this Short Story either, but it was more than just the planning.

As part of my planning process, I also came up with a Shameless Plug and a Please Review for this Short Story. I don’t know if I will use them or not, but if I get done with this Short Story soon enough I probably will. Just have to be sure that I don’t do what I did last month again. Hopefully, I will never do that again.

For January, I barely remembered to enter the WDC Short Story contest with less than an hour to spare. If I remember correctly, it was about fifty minutes before the end of the month. Last month, I thought that I had entered this contest, but I found out a couple of days ago that I didn’t do it. I don’t want that to happen again.

So, if I do post a Shameless Plug Page and a Please Review Page, I need to make sure that I enter this WDC Short Story contest before the end of this month. I didn’t get too good of reviews last month. What that means is if the two or three reviews that I did get are any indication I would have one that contest that month either.

The remembering and the planning weren’t all that I got accomplished today. I also did the first section/part. That means I only have nine more parts/sections left to write before I’m finished writing it. It also means that I have three more days this week to finish writing it aka three more sections/parts per day.

Can I get three or more parts/sections over the next three days? I think that I can do it. After all, as far as I know, my brother and I don’t have too much that we need to get done over the next three days. If that’s true, then I should be able to get three sections/parts done by the end of Friday. Hopefully, more than three parts/sections per day.
