I-2: Rule 42
"All persons more than a mile high to leave the court" - as judge of a fictional town of choice, create a rule 42 of your own that all citizens must abide to. Failure to do so should result in...? (blog entry or short story <1000 words)

Judge Patty O'Matty turned to her bailiff, Mr. Harry B. Larry across the empty courtroom, and banged her gavel.

“I'm sick of it.”

“Ma'am?”

“Oakville is such a talented place and we're stuck here, bored and cleaning up traffic ordinances. I want more.”

“We are traffic court, Ma'am.”

She got out a pen and stared up at the air as though searching for inspiration. “I'm going to write a new rule for Oakville.”

“We're traffic court, not the mayor or the town council.”

“I'm the judge in this town. It's up to me to interpret the law.”

“Not write it.”

“But this is such a perfect law. Here: Rule 42. All people on the road must speak in rhyme or be in contempt of court, being subject to a fine of no more than $10 and imprisonment for no more than six hours for every such instance.”

“Ma'am, this is not going to work.”

“Why not? I'm the one who is ultimately responsible for the behavior of people on the roads. I think I have the duty to make them rhyme.”
