A book to house all my Poetic Explorations |
Hands that once held empires, now cradle gentle tea, Eyes that saw the world unfold, now smile with quiet glee. Steps that danced on moonlit streets, now walk a slower pace, Hearts that beat with youthful fire, now hold a timeless grace. Silver threads on weathered brows, a map of life well-worn, Laughter lines that whisper tales of battles fought and won. Wrinkles etched by time's soft hand, like stories in the sand, Each crease a testament to love, a promise held in hand. Voices seasoned, rich and deep, like melodies of old, Sharing wisdom whispered down, a treasure to be told. Memories like embers warm, of loved ones lost and found, In every glance, a life unfolds, on fertile, hallowed ground. They built the roads we walk upon, the bridges that we cross, They planted seeds of hope and dreams, at what was any cost. They taught us strength in gentle words, and kindness in their gaze, They are the roots that hold us firm, through life's uncertain maze. So let us honor every step, each laugh, each tear they've shed, For in their twilight years they shine, a light that cannot fade. Let's listen to their stories told, with hearts both young and old, For in their wisdom lies the key, to treasures yet untold. Senior citizens, our guiding stars, our ever guiding hand. Their lives a covenant to love, a legacy that will withstand. So cherish every moment shared, each smile, each gentle touch, For in their eyes, the world unfolds, a love that means so much.
