These Are My JOTtings, Part #2

Sunny Afternoon

Oh, thank The Lord for sunny days
within this wintertime.
The comforts of this warmth I pray
will help the uphill climb

to spring with all its growth and joy,
infusing life with peace.
I pray I'm like a new, young boy
with hope, that doth increase.

The background noise of cars, that drive
upon the nearest road
is gentle as its rhythms thrive
and waft o'er my abode.

The cats find rest upon our car.
I sit in a nearby chair,
where softest breezes, right on par
caress my face and hair.

Oh, thank The Lord for a respite, now
from bitter cold distress.
I thank Him for each chirping bough,
that in the ears do bless.
