Nature and Nurture

We are born with gifts and talents
A unique blend of who we are
A blueprint hidden in the folds
Of our being.
Our life purpose is
To unearth those gifts and talents
And use them to make the world
A little brighter
As we let our light shine.

We are also shaped by the world around us
Our experiences mold who we become
They are intricately perceived
Like a thumb print
Deep within our subconscious.
We are what we see, hear, touch, taste and smell.
We are what we read, watch and immerse ourselves in.
Everything leaves an indelible mark.
Take care of what you let in
It will change you -
Even in the most minuscule of ways.
Be intentional in your choices;
Guard your soul and your mind.
Remember to practice Love
And be present in all things;
As love and presence helps
Guide your heart and mind
To the cherished moments
The world has to offer.
Never close yourself off to possibility
Be change you want to see in the world.
Let your light shine.
