Back in the Closet they Go

In this dark age of worldwide rising intolerance,
Against the LGBTQ community especially against the trans community.
Including calls for stoning gays in many countries
In Africa, India, the Mideast, Russia, and the Bible Belt of the USA.
Despite gains in Europe, North and South America, and SE Asia,
It is tempting for many of the LGBTQ community to go back into the closet.
Coming out could be a death sentence nowadays.
And if Fascism comes to the U.S. I fear for my LGBTQ friends there.

WRITE A PORCH or ROOF or CLOSET POEM.

Note: I have a lot of LGBTQ friends although I am a Cisgendered married man. I fear that life will get very tough for them even in the US.
