Good and Bad News

The good news is that I got my WDC Short Story done for this month. It’s not a very good one. But it is done. Well, that isn’t exactly true. I think it is a very good Short Story. But I don’t think the judges will like it, though. Not because of the story itself, but because of how it ends. It’s not a very good ending.

That’s because it just suddenly ends. There is no ending to it. I wanted to write more. But there is a two-thousand-word limit on these short stories. It’s not a bad not ending. It just isn’t a good one. That’s because it leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Most judges don’t like that. In fact, most Reviewers don’t like it either.

That is the good news. The bad news is that it took me almost the whole day to finish writing it. Not only did I have to finish writing this WDC Short Story, but I had to tweak it a little to keep it under two thousand words. Luckily, I didn’t need to do too much tweaking. But it did take most of the day to do it.

Unfortunately, how long it took to finish it wasn’t the only reason why I barely had time to finish it. What is the usual reason why I can get more writing done that day? That’s right. It’s because of what my brother and I had to do that day. Unfortunately, that is what happened to me today. As a result, I didn’t have any time for writing.

Well, that isn’t exactly true either. I did have some time to work on my WDC Short Story. after all, I did finish it. Unfortunately, that’s all I had time to do today. my brother and I didn’t have that much we needed to do today. But what we needed to do took us most of the afternoon to do it. That’s why my writing time was limited.

What does that mean for this Short Story? it means I will need to create it and enter this contest tomorrow. Another reason why I wanted to get it done sooner rather than later was so that I could possibly get some reviews on it. But I can’t do that this month. I still could, but with it being almost thanksgiving here in the United States, I can’t.

It's not that I can’t. I just don’t think I will get that many reviews. Don’t get that many anyway, but with it so close to the end of the month and a holiday in a couple of days I didn’t think I would get any. So, why bother. The same is kind of true about Plugging it. I could do it. But I’m not going to do that either this month.

It shouldn’t take me too long to create it or enter this contest. So, what else will I do tomorrow? A lot of that depends on what my brother and I need to do tomorrow. As far as I know, we don’t have anything that needs doing. But I have thought that millions of times. And I have been wrong about that.

If I don’t have anything to do or it’s not that bad, I could go back to my Water Wars scriptwriting project. the scanning of my handwriting into my laptop. I could also take the day off and relax before I need to get ready to go back to work tomorrow night at midnight for my Thursday morning shift. That’s probably what I will do either way.
