Not Another Normal Wednesday

No pun intended. I know that the WDC Short Story prompt is about normalcy. But that isn’t why I used ‘normal’ in the above blog title. It was because my third day off from work aka a Wednesday used to be a day of relaxing and getting ready to go back to work Wednesday night at midnight for a Thursday morning shift.

It hasn’t been a normal Wednesday in a very long time. It’s been so long that I can’t remember the last time it was a normal Wednesday. That’s how long it has been. If I had to guess when the last time was, it must be about two or three months ago. Maybe not quite that long. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t longer than that.

All I do know is that it’s been about as long as it has been since I started fighting a cold almost constantly and losing. Weak and tired no matter how much sleep I had gotten the night before. Especially on a Wednesday. This week I can’t make an excuse for that anyway.

For the last three days, I have gotten plenty of sleep. About seven or eight hours a day. If not a little bit more than that. So, it can’t be that I’m weak and tired. At least not the tired part of it. It could still be the weak. But weak and tired usually go together.

What am I trying to write about? It’s about what I haven’t been able to do today. and that is any writing done on my WDC Short Story for this month. I have it all written in my head. Just haven’t gotten the time to get it written on my laptop. Why haven’t I had the time to do it today? What is the usual reason why?

Usually, that reason is that my brother and I had a lot that needed to be done today. And that it took us most of the day to do it. If not the whole day. Unfortunately, that is true today. But it’s also not true. What does that mean? It means that we did have a lot to do today, but it wasn’t the only reason I didn’t get any writing done.

The main reason is the way I have been feeling all day today. So weak and tired it slowed us down on what we needed to do today. As a result, I didn’t get any WDC Short Story writing done today. It wasn’t as bad as it reads, though. I still have nine more days to finish it.

The weakness and tiredness didn’t just affect my brother and me. It also affected my thinking. Yesterday, I had time to think about this WDC Short Story. Today, the weakness and tiredness also affected that. Luckily, I already had that thinking done for this WDC Short Story.
