Almost a New Record Tie

I’m not sure if my scene total is a tie for a new record or if I’m off by one or two. For some reason, I think that I have gotten twenty-one scenes written in one day at work, but I could have done another twenty. I know I have done twenty a few times, but I can’t remember if I had done more than that.

The same may be true about the number of single paragraphs that I got written in one day. If I remember correctly, my best single paragraph written day was a few weekends ago with seventy single paragraphs. It was another Sunday, I believe. Unfortunately, I didn’t quite get that many single paragraphs. I got sixty-nine written earlier today at work.

Sixty-nine single paragraphs and twenty scenes I think is a very good day. Especially, considering how I was feeling a work today. I was feeling weak and tired. Unfortunately, it was the sleepy kind of tired. No, I didn’t go to sleep at work or even take a nap, nodded off, etc. I did feel like doing it. Had to fight myself not to do it.

That’s how tired I was a work earlier today. If I’m lucky, I will get six hours of sleep on Saturday afternoon and early evening, but I don’t think I got six hours yesterday. I may have gotten five to five and three-quarters, but I don’t think I got any more than that, and that’s if I got that many. It may have been lower than that.

The weakness I was feeling all day today was from the cold I’m fighting not to get but losing. It’s where I work. It is either too cold in there or a little bit too hot, but it changes on an almost daily basis. As a result, I think I’m getting another cold. Hopefully, it won’t be as bad or long-lasting as the ones I have been having lately.

Between the way I was feeling and my lack of sleep, I came close to tying or breaking a new record, but I didn’t quite make it. Only one single paragraph short of tying it, and two to make it a new record. I should have at least tied it. Probably would have beaten it slightly, but I didn’t because of how I was feeling earlier today.

I also had a lack of concentration earlier today at work when it came to my writing. That’s another reason why I didn’t get more written. Especially, in the first couple of hours of my work shift. I had to do a lot of rewriting and erasing during those first two hours. It wasn’t a lot better after that, but it was better.

Something else that slowed me down a little bit too was the amount of dialogue there is in this script so far. There has been a lot of it now that it’s not just the six main cast members in it. Now that their InWaterStructure has several hundred other Younger-Than-Adults and Adults on it, there is more dialogue. A lot more description too.
