The Door

The Door Weekly contest

Sam Adams worked.
as a paranormal researcher
for the Cosmos Institute.

One day
they received.
a mysterious package,

consisting of:

an old-fashioned
pocket watch
a key,
a map,

the fabled book
the Necromicron
and a cryptic note.

The note read,

“Open the key in time.
Chat from the book
On page 666

You will find the verse.
To open the door
to the other worlds.

but beware.
It is a one-way ticket.
with no return. “


They drove to the site.
in southern Oregon,
following the attached map,
and found an abandoned house.

In the town of Eagle Point
North of Medford, Oregon
In the Rogue River Valley.


Sam Adams
decided to spend the night.
The next day
when they came
back to the house,


the house
the pocket watch.
the Necronomicon
the map
and key
had all disappeared.

and Sam Adams's
body was missing.
The police closed the case.
