Maybe Only One Short Story This Month
Maybe Only One
Short Story This Month

Still haven’t gotten any prompt from the second Short Story contest that I have been entering for quite a while now. We may not get one this month or I may not get one. It could go either way. If there isn’t one, maybe it’s because it’s Halloween this month.

If that’s the reason why there is no prompt this month, then what about Thanksgiving and Christmas? Does that mean there will be no prompts for November and December too? I know that doing a prompt for holidays can be difficult sometimes. Especially, with a contest like this one. That doesn’t mean there still can’t be a prompt.

The prompt doesn’t need to represent the holiday. It can, but it doesn’t need to be done. This contest is Science Fiction, and the way most people think of Science Fiction these holidays could still be used. They could be set in the future, on a spaceship, on another planet, etc.

Prompts like these may make it difficult for someone like me who doesn’t write short stories about Earth, Earth colonization, Earth exploration, etc. After all, I only write pure Science Faction, I mean Science Fiction. It probably won’t be for any other Science Fiction writers. There could still be a prompt for the next three months.

Writing Pure Science Faction, I mean Science Fiction, isn’t the only thing that may prevent me from writing because of these holidays. It’s also the kind of short stories that I’m writing too aka SpaceHorrors. I could still write them, but it would be a challenge to do it.

Of course, I love a good challenge. It makes me think about the rest of the universe. Sometimes I have a lot of problems remembering a Short Story, and sometimes it isn’t. Especially, now that I’m devoting my short stories to SpaceHorrors. Even if it’s a holiday prompt about an Earth holiday, that doesn’t mean I can’t do it.

The WDC prompt for this month is sort of about Halloween, and I have remembered a Short Story related to it. I know it won’t be accepted because it’s not a Halloween-style Short Story, but I’m going to write it anyway. After all, it still does relate to this prompt.

It’s just not a direct relationship. Speaking of the WDC Short Story, it may be the only Short Story that I write this month. I have been entering a Horror contest lately too, and they do have a Halloween-related prompt. I’ve remembered a SpaceHorrors Short Story for this prompt, but it probably won’t be accepted either.

So, I might not want to enter this contest this month. I haven’t decided whether I’m going to write a Short Story for this contest or not, but there is a very good chance that I will only be writing One Short Story this month aka a Short Story for the WDC Short Story Contest.
