Pray for the lonely and those who live alone.

This is an apt prayer request, as while I don't live alone (I live with my children), I do long for physical companionship sometimes...someone to talk to, be friends with, or even to just touch hands.

Proverbs 3:27
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

To me, Proverbs 3 is just common sense. I take it literally, so if I can do good for someone, I should just do it - not procrastinate or put off to another day - or else I might forget. Everything good comes from the Lord, why shouldn't I share it - whether it be material goods or even encouragement?

Just my ruminations for today. And a good reminder.
