It Has Been One of Those Days

From very early this morning until just before I started writing this blog entry, my brother and I have been very busy doing things that needed to be done. As a result, I haven’t gotten any writing done on my WDC Short Story today either. Normally, I would be extremely worried about that. Especially, since it’s almost halfway through the month.

I’m not worried about it just yet though. After all, it looks like I may only have two short stories I’m trying to write this month. I still haven’t gotten a prompt for one of the regular contests I write for. This has happened before. The last time it was this late, the contest was extended to the first week of the following month. That may happen again, and it may not.

There have been a few times there hasn’t been a prompt in a month. It hasn’t happened too often, but it has happened a few times that I know about aka the last couple of years I have written short stories for this contest. About a year ago at this time, this contest went on hiatus for a few months. I’m starting to wonder if that is what is going to happen again.

It's not just the contests this month, though. Another reason why I haven’t gotten any writing done today is because of a lack of sleep. I haven’t gotten too much sleep the last few days. It’s been about five or six hours a night. That’s not too bad, but it’s not very good either. I think that has affected my writing too or the lack of it today.

The only other thing it could be is that I’m feeling very weak and tired today. Even if I had the time to do any writing, I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it. I thought it was because of the lack of sleep lately, but it may be more than that. Hopefully, it’s not true, but I could be coming down with another cold. That’s not too surprising considering where I work.

Whatever the reason, I didn’t get any writing done today. that leaves me only eight days to finish writing these two short stories. Maybe three if I ever get a prompt for the third one. As I wrote above, it’s not time to worry yet, but it might be if I don’t get any writing done over the next two days too. Hopefully, I will be able to get some writing done tomorrow and Wednesday.

I know there are a couple of things that my brother and I have to get done tomorrow, but I don’t think it will take us too long to do them. If that’s true, I should have plenty of time to work on my WDC Short Story for this month. I’m not sure about Wednesday yet. I know we have something to do in the morning, but I’m not sure about the rest of the day.

Usually, my Wednesdays are when I can sit back and relax before I go back to work at midnight Thursday morning. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been that way lately. I’m hoping it will be this week. If it is a normal Wednesday, I may get some more writing done on my WDC Short Story for this month. I’m not going to count on that happening until it happens, though.
