Now It’s Two

I have decided to write a Short Story for another contest. Not only because it relates to a future scriptwriting project, but because I like a challenge. When I saw this contest in the listings, I checked it out because I love a good horror story. True, it’s related to a future project too, but that isn’t the reason why I checked it out. I was just curious about what kind of a contest it was.

Only after I looked at this contest did I think about the relationship with my future scriptwriting project. I just needed to remember a storyline that went with this Prompt. It didn’t take me too long to remember one related to both my future project and this prompt. That’s when I decided that I was going to write this second Short Story for this month.

Don’t worry. My WDC Short Story comes first. The second one is what the name implies. It will be my second one this month. Maybe the third if my normal second Short Story decides to give a prompt for this month. I checked just before I started writing this blog entry, and it’s not there yet. Hopefully, it will come out soon, and I will have three short stories for this month too. I’m not going to count on that until it happens.

My WDC Short Story always takes priority when it comes to writing a Short Story each month that I write them. Which is often almost every month of the year. There are sometimes one or two months that I don’t write a WDC Short Story because it’s not a Short Story month. There aren’t too many of them, but there are a few. January is one of them. Sometimes it’s more than that one, though.

Whether it’s two or three short stories I’m going to try to write, my WDC Short Story comes first. If I don’t get to the other ones, that’s okay. Even this new one. It’s not easy for me to write two in a month. Three is even harder to do. I did it last month, and I should be able to do it this month too. If today is any indication, I may not be able to get all three written. After all, I don’t have too much to write about today.

Don’t get me wrong. I did get a little bit of writing done today, but not as much as I would like it to have been. Most of that reason was it was a very typical second day off from work. My brother and I had a lot of things that we needed to get done today. Unfortunately, that means I didn’t have too much time to devote to my writing.

Unfortunately, I only got one section/part written today. That leaves me nine more to go. Hopefully, I can get a few more done tomorrow. If I can do that, then I may be able to get all three of these short stories written this month. After all, I have nine more days off this month to write them. That equals one per week, and that’s after this week. so, there is no reason to panic yet whether I can get all three of these written this month or not.
