On the Edge of Eternity - Round 119 Shadows and Light

On the edge of eternity
I see clearly for the first time;
Things that once held importance
Have faded into the background.

What I've accomplished doesn't register
In the great scheme of life;
Right now, it only matters
On who I've become within.

Have I helped my fellow man?
Have I given compassion or grace?
Have I forgiven any faults?
Do I have peace inside of myself?

Mortality's end is sobering,
Yet fear doesn't consume me.
Regrets are many, but in the end,
I only want to be thought of as kind.
