For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land." Psalm 37:8–9 Yet, in Proverbs, here are some things that God hates. Proverbs 6:16-19 16There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community How do we reconcile this? Ephesians 4:26 (Amplified Bible) says: Be angry [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], yet do not sin; do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down. Jesus did this when he chased the money-lenders out of the Temple; a sacred place for worship that had been turned into a den of thieves. Hebrews 10:31 (Amplified Bible) It is a fearful and terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God [incurring His judgment and wrath]. |
