Let There Be Light
When shadows encroach and
depression persistent,
you feel lost and alone
and hope seems so distant,
there's still flickering light
if you know where to look;
seek the good in the world
and step out of your book.

Think on all that is true,
laws that nature obeys,
tides ebbing and flowing,
and the dawn of new days.

Think on things that are pure,
like puppies, and snowflakes,
daffodils and daisies,
the sound a new babe makes...

Think on lovely things too,
or things honest and just.
There is light in the dark,
friend, you just need to trust.
