Prayer prompt Pray for those in long term care facilities. Blog prompt What does love mean? For a 4-word question, it is a HUGE one. A question that the world wants answered, but always seems to fall short. There are many answers: I grew up learning of the friendship, agape, eros definitions, and many corresponding words - https://www.thesaurus.com/browse/love Then there is the ever-popular "God is Love" Scripture. 1 Corinthians 13:4–8a (ESV) Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Jesus dying on the cross in place of us for our sins so that we could have a relationship with God without fear of the wrath to come. To me, this is the best definition. He willingly gave Himself up for us, and even asked God to forgive as they didn't know what they were doing. Love also overcomes a couple of other 4-letter words: fear and hate. 1 John 4:18, ESV: There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:20-21 Common English Bible 20 Those who say, “I love God” and hate their brothers or sisters are liars. After all, those who don’t love their brothers or sisters whom they have seen can hardly love God whom they have not seen! 21 This commandment we have from him: Those who claim to love God ought to love their brother and sister also.
