Psalms 1:2 (NIV)

"but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night."

(source: Oxford Language)

de·light

verb
please (someone) greatly.

noun
great pleasure.

med·i·tate

verb
think deeply or focus one's mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation.

think deeply or carefully about (something).

plan mentally; consider.

Both of these words stand out to me in this verse. They both require action, and are both a deliberate choice one makes.
A righteous man doesn't meditate accidently; His delight may be a happy surprise, but it is a path that is chosen.

So A righteous man delights in the Lord; a righteous man also meditates on His word day and night (continuously in mind when going about life; first consideration)
