Just things that I think about now and then.

Week 3 Andre's Blog Prompts WC 134, 106, 115
CATEGORY 1 PROMPT

Is commenting on blog entries a good idea? Do you comment or "Like" on most blog entries you read? Should there be a "Don't Like" option?

I don't think that it is wrong to comment on a blog entry, especially if it is something that "strikes a chord" in a person. I was also raised that if you can't say something nice, to not say anything at all. But I'm pretty sure that has gone by the wayside. I don't suppose that it would be wrong to have a "Don't like" or a "Don't Agree" button. When I read something I don't like, or don't agree with, I try to see it from the writer's point of view. If I cannot get past it, I either don't comment, or try to ask politely why they feel that way. It does no good to anyone to berate or judge people. You aren't likely to change each other's minds by knocking each other down. It also feeds drama, which is a no-win scenario.

CATEGORY 2 PROMPT

Should criminals be locked up, housed, feed and clothed at the public's expense, or something else?

I think that there is an argument for "chain gangs" or at the very least, doing work that contributes to their maintenance. I think at least 30-40 hours work should be mandatory. I think TV should be limited, perhaps as a privilege, with possible schooling for GED, and/or counseling. The idea of "catering" is not a good idea. They are there for a reason, and need to own up to their actions. Perhaps making amends, or if not possible, telling others their stories to perhaps keep others from making the same mistakes. Sounds simplistic, I suppose.

CATEGORY 3 PROMPT

If you were allowed to learn magic, who would you most and least like to have as your mentor: Merlin, Harry Potter, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Sapphire Foxx, Jeannie from 'I Dream of Jeannie," Glinda Witch of the North, or Magical Monkey Max (Andre's cousin)? Explain the whynots and what would be your first magic and what would it be used on?

Most likely, Merlin; least likely - Sabrina. I don't know who Sapphire Foxx is, and I don't think Jeannie would be a good teacher. Glinda might do, and I have absolutely no idea about Magical Monkey Max - although the shenanigans might be something else! Harry might be ok, but he had a hard time keeping his glasses in one piece...I think maybe I'd like Hermione better. LOL. But that's just my opinion on the subject.
I think I'd like to try to reverse some of the ravages of time and aging. But only if it were a permanent spell. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the point would be. But I don't want to live forever. That's a whole other can of worms. Unless the magic was just for entertainment value, say for a fundraiser, or something along those lines. Clear as mud, right?
