In the vast darkness
Everything is swallowed up;
The thick, inky emptiness
where nothing penetrates.

Save one thing -
A lone candle flickers,
Giving light where there is none.
Opening a portal from the gloom.

Let us be that candlelight,
In a darkened world;
Let us reflect the Light of Christ,
Allowing His light to lead the way.
