A Geographer's Poem
A Geographer’s Poem
Alaska, the frozen state,
wakes from its six-month sleep,
admittedly a trifle late
but winters are so deep,
retracts its mighty arm,
devoid of all pollutions,
and throws, without intent of harm,
snowballs named the Aleutians.
Line count: 8
Rhymed abab
For Express It In Eight, 01.03.23
Prompt: Alaska became a state in 1959.
Note: As already stated, this poem is written by and for geographers. To share in the joke, it may be necessary to google for a map of Alaska.
