I Hear You

Repetition,
         the rat-a-tat-tat of drumsticks on a snare.
Repetition,
         the in and out of the tide lapping at the shore.
Repetition,
         the patter of rain drops against the window pain.
Repetition,
         the echo of your name in the canyon of my mind.
Repetition,
         the lure to play our song, again and again.
Repetition,
         the way my thoughts return to you, over and over.
