1999 - ugh!!!
prayer prompt:
Pray for your country and its inhabitants.

blog prompt:
Tell about a time that your faith was tested.

I think 1999 was the hardest year for me and my faith...
My husband and I had separated. He got the car; I got the kids. It was just after school ended for the year. We were living in Illinois, and my folks came down from Michigan to get me and the kids. Just before school started, I got a job at a factory. About September; my daughter complained of bleeding when she urinated. She was only 7, so off to the doctor we went. It was a long time of tests and questions, and we ended up going to my parent's house only to pick up and head to Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids...there was talk of "mass" and "white blood cells" and I needed to take her there immediately. Turns out she had a weird kind of kidney cancer that was a combination of two different kinds...She had surgery, and lost one kidney, but with chemo and radiation, she ended up making a full recovery. (Thank God!!!)

But during that time, I lost my job, (ended up getting it back - again; mercy) and my faith was stretched pretty much to the breaking point. I know I was angry with God for quite a while, and eventually found my way back. God is faithful. My ex ended up remarried, and that hurt as well. But God knows what he is about. He is faithful and takes care of His children; even when they aren't paying attention.
