Just things that I think about now and then. |
prompt for Take up your Cross - Dec 28, 2022 If you had to pick out a word and a scripture to focus on in 2023, what would it be and why? 1 Timothy 6:6-11 (NIV) (source:https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Timothy%206%3A6-11&version=NIV) 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. Final Charge to Timothy 11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. The word that I believe I will be focusing on is "contentment". There are a lot of things that I want to do still in my life; but as long as I trust and believe in Christ, I think that will suffice. I think I am done being caught up in the rat race...LOL (who wants to be the number 1 rat anyway? ) Perhaps "buzz words" isn't the exact thing I am trying to convey, but it will do for now. I want what life God chooses to give me to be that of contentment and obedience. Just the marbles rolling around |
