Vindication

“Good things come to those who wait,”
said the man standing at the stop.
“The bus will come, the schedules state,
my hopes are high, they do not drop.”

And so he stood there in the rain,
for hours he waited like a dunce,
but he was right for down the lane
came buses three and all at once.
