Haven’t Started Writing Yet

It has been a very typical Monday aka my first day off from work. From early this morning until late afternoon, almost evening, my brother and I had one thing after another that needed to be done. That didn’t leave me too much time to work on my first of two short stories for this month.

The first Short Story is for the WDC Short Story Contest. It’s true, I haven’t done any physical writing on the Short Story itself yet. I have started with the breakdown of this story, though. What am I writing about? It’s how I like to write my short stories. I have several ways of doing that.

Sometimes I just write a few paragraphs about what the story is going to be about, sometimes I do a single sentence for each part/section of the story, and sometimes it’s both. These paragraphs and sentences are a part of the story. They are just guidelines for what I want to write. At least they are for the paragraphs. The sentences maybe not be as much.

Sometimes these single sentences are incorporated into that section/part of the story one way or another, and sometimes they aren’t. then there are times when it’s a completely different paragraph that doesn’t match the sentence at all. After all, I write the freelance way when it comes to my short stories, poems, etc. I let my fingers do the writing.

Does that make sense? It doesn’t to me, and I’m the one who just wrote it. What I’m trying to write is that I let my imagination go wild with my short stories, poems, etc. the story is still the same, but how it is written can sometimes change. It doesn’t happen a lot, but it does happen, though.

This first Short Story for this month will be a combination of both paragraphs and sentences. I still have a paragraph or two to finish. Then I will go into my sentences. I’m still not sure how many parts/sections I want for this Short Story. I like to keep them even so that the first half ends in sort of a cliffhanger. So, it will probably be between four and ten sections/parts long.

I have gone over ten parts/sections. It hasn’t happened too much, though. Once maybe twice at the most. Most of my parts/sections are ten sections/parts. Some are four or eight parts/sections. Once in a while, they may be six sections/parts long, but that doesn’t happen too often. If it has ever happened.

At the most, I think I have done one six part/section story. I have done a few four section/part stories, but most of my have either been eight to ten parts/sections long. Most of my short stories are ten sections/parts long. I’m not sure what this first Short Story will be sentence-wise. It could be ten. Then again, it may be six or eight. I have decided that yet.
