Christ's Love
prompt
We are told in John 15:12 to love one another as Christ has loved us. We must know and understand the love of Christ in order to love others with the same type of love. What is the love of Christ? How does Christ love us?
We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19 NIV)
(1 John 4:20) If anyone says, "I love God," but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
(Romans 5:8) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
This, to me, demonstrates God's love. He loved us so much, that Christ was allowed to die a substitutionary death for us, that we may come to fellowship with God. He took our place. What an example!
