Flowers

The great grey green greasy Limpopo
Eldorado somewhere up the Orinoco
those allegories on the banks of the Nile
the heart of darkness deep in the Congo
three men in a boat on a river less longo
the Mississippi took Huck for many a mile
these but a few samples of rivers that flow*
through the pages of books that we know.
