Knowing when to share

I usually take my cue from the person to whom I am talking. In my younger days, I was more of an "in your face" kind of person, and I am sure that it did not always come across as kind. Now I tend to sense where the conversation is going. I find it easier to talk to someone I know, rather than a complete stranger.

Do we always end up talking about knowing the Lord? Not always; maybe 1/2 the time. But I do shoot a quick prayer heavenward, if it looks like we will get to talk about the Lord.

How do you broach the subject of asking a person if they know Jesus? I am not talking about trying to convert someone to your faith, but if they know Jesus.
