Has it been 21 years already? Since I was working in a factory and heard the radio blaring news reports from all over? Just about 1/2 my life ago. (ackk! *FacePalm*

Since then, the rubble of the towers have been removed and repurposed, as museum or memorial artifacts all over the world. A new single tower has been resurrected: The One World Trade Center. Life goes on, as it must, for the living.

Fast forward 21 years - A ruling Monarch, who reigned for 70 years, went to meet her Maker this past week. Most of the living world has only known Elizabeth II as queen of Great Britain. Now England has a King, and the beginning of a new era has begun. The country will grieve for a specific period, then again, life will go on. The family will probably grieve longer, but in private.

Time heals all wounds, so the saying goes
But healing can come in stages
Scars form and are never completely forgotten
But time goes on, and so must we

The best we can hope for
is that we learn the lessons given
Not making the same mistakes
Nor forgetting to live
