Quick one because it's been a week since I last did anything with this.
Apart from columns for Weekend Notes, my writing has been filled with a couple of the non-fiction books I am working on. I found a heap of mistakes in one (because I trusted a source that ended up being untrustworthy) plus some additional information (the book now sits at 200k+ words...); the other I managed to get to a place I needed for research, leaving only two places left to go before I get down to the editing section.
So, because I know the two people who read this could be interested, here's the pitches:
Book 1 is a collection of brief descriptions of creatures of myth and legend and modern-day cryptids. Creatures invented for books, films, TV shows and D&D have been studiously ignored; modern re-interpretations have been avoided. And it is still 200+k words long.
Book 2 is me going back to places of my teenaged years and describing how they've changed.
