20220620 Fast Turnaround

Just thought I'd share this one.

I was out shopping last week, Wednesday. After I'd finished, I was at my car when I bumped into a friend. We got chatting and he made comment of how small my "shop" was. I said I stuck to my list, with only one extra item. He praised me for my restraint, I told him the secret was to eat a lot before going shopping, we laughed, and he said I should write a poem about it (I'm known for my comedy poems - and I use both terms advisedly - in the area).

By Friday night I'd done it, wrote the poem, and gave him a copy. He laughed, and so did the other people he was there with. (There is a community tea every Friday night we both go to.) Saturday morning, I submitted it to the local paper.

This morning it was accepted. Less than a week from idea to publication acceptance. That was fast.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.
