20220221 Writing progress

So, yesterday I took a day off of my longer work. I didn't like the speed the story was progressing at and I needed some time to think about it.

Instead... I wrote a poem, a fantasy short story (2300 words), a column for Weekend Notes, ready to post next month (1600 words), finished a letter of complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman (PayPal are screwing me over), and a quick summary of the events of Ragnarok according to the Vedas for my son for school (1500 words).

Writing just comes.

However, I woke up this morning at 5 o'clock, and realised what I'd done wrong, so my 25k word story is now 20k words and that getting rid of 20% of the writing has tightened it up and sped it up, and thus it has spurred me on to keep going this afternoon.
